How Do You Want to Feel in 2023?
And just like that friends, *snaps* we are in February.
How did your January go? I’m genuinely curious so please feel free to reply to this email.
Honestly for me, January came in with no brakes and literally no breaks.
I’ve still been processing quite a bit of grief from all of the events and personal change from the last couple of years, I’m currently still in the middle of some major life transitions and with all of the astrological retrograde clusterf**ks, I’ve been taking my time in finding my footing.
But I’ve also had some really amazing moments both individually and with my various communities that have given me glimpses into the beauty, power and transformation that this year will bring.
I can tell a lot of people are having a similar experience of not quite having their footing yet and I can also tell there’s still a lot of energy / urgency / pressure around having goals and visions in place for the year ahead.
I know this because I’ve experienced it, I’ve seen it on the interwebs, people and clients have told me and because I’m Highly Sensitive and can often sense what is going on intuitively on a collective level.
As easy as it could be to get lost in the question of “what do you want to accomplish in 2023?” I’ve been choosing to focus on the question “how do I want to feel in 2023?”
Because here’s the thing about goals and vision boards and intention setting and all that stuff…….they’re great. They really are.
But without a solid energetic foundation beneath them, without a focus on the *feeling* then at best they are motivators and at worst they’re burnout traps.
And beyond that, they can steer us and our life in a direction - relationships, jobs, environments - that we don’t actually on a soul level want to go in.
Without having energetic integrity, we end up surviving what we create vs. thriving in it.
Believe me, I could write a novel on this.
But when we shift our attention from what do we want to do to how do we want to feel, we shift from head to heart; from the ego to the soul; from intellect to wisdom.
Bringing our focus to how we would like to feel, allows us to be rooted in the present moment and gently invites us to consider, as Maryam Hasnaa discusses in great depth and precision, how we are running our energy.
Did we like the way we were running our energy last year or in the past? Did we like how we felt most days? Or when we hit those goals and milestones we made for ourselves?
If not, then we probably aren’t running our energy in a way that is congruent to who we are on a soul level; to our unique energy blueprint.
Which then means the visions and goals we create for ourselves most likely don’t match up either. Hello, burnout, our old friend.
Personally for me that is not an energetic contract I want to keep re-signing.
So for January, I’ve been focusing on being clear about how I want to run my energy and what my energetic foundation for the year will be (and keeping in mind it could change) and will likely continue doing that for the next bit of time.
When we have a strong and clear energetic foundation rooted in how we want to feel, we are honoring the present version of ourselves on a Soul level.
We give space for co-creation with the larger powers at be and flexibility and freedom in how those energies then physically show up in our 3D reality.
Energy and feeling always come first.
For me, what’s been showing up has been:
Pleasure
Ease
Rest
Joy
Play
Community
Collaboration
Creativity
Coins
Freedom
Sexual Expression
Expansion
As I tune into these energies on a daily basis, I am more grounded, centered and feel excited to see what clarity and opportunities unfold (it’s also a huge practice in patience, emphasis on *practice*).
Here are some ways you can start to tune into your own energetic foundation for 2023:
1.) Reflect on the Past
When the clock strikes January 1st, there’s a pressure to only look forward; however, there is much wisdom in the past.
Ask yourself what felt good about last year? When did I feel my best? What was I doing? Who was I with? When did I feel most energized? Most connected to myself? See if there’s energy blueprints you want to bring forward into the current moment
2.) Chinese New Year Themes
Checking the overall themes of what this year’s Chinese New Year - Year of the Water Rabbit - represents can help guide or inspire your own themes
3.) Numerology
I am a big believer in the power of numbers. We are in a Collective 7 year (2+0+2+3) so there is already an emphasis on knowledge, inner guidance, intuition and spirituality (my Life Path number is 7 so I am primed and ready)
You can also calculate your Personal Year numerology here and find out its meaning. For example, my personal year is 5 which carries the energy of freedom (hence freedom being one of my energetic focal points in my list above)
4.) Human Design Chart
I am a huge Human Design fan and it’s changed my life in a lot of ways. It’s its own version of your unique energy blueprint.
You can generally look it up here or get a personalized reading here
5.) Practice Makes Progress
Words and even vision boards are useless without a feeling connected to them so we must take time, as often as possible, to embody the energy so we have tangible experiences for ourselves as reference points as well as indicators for when opportunities pop up to filter whether they’re in alignment with our energetic foundation
My mornings usually start with focusing on the energy I’m looking to embody and using EFT to imprint it into my cellular memory
6.) Get Support
Gone are the days of toxic individualism. You don’t actually need to figure things out on your own, there’s no award or badge on the other side of that. It’s lonely, hard and not nearly as fun.
Whether it’s with a community, a therapist, a mentor, a friend, find the connection points and support systems that can help hold all parts of you and keep you accountable to what you say you want
My 1:1 Offerings are designed to be support systems that help you honor your inner guidance + intuition, create that upgraded energetic foundation and create visions and pathways that are congruent with your unique Soul
Let me know what some of your themes are! I’m literally writing this from my bed under my weighted blanket (my new obsession) so I’d like to think I’m embodying at least the first 3 off my list.
With Ease,
Bianca
